Trails

New Braunfels Area

County Line Memorial Trail

This is the first linear trail in the park system. The trail connects area neighborhoods and schools. Plenty of young trees along the pathway and rest areas with benches and bridges. Bike, run, dog and kid friendly.

DRY COMAL CREEK

The Dry Comal Trail is a 2.25 mile loop, open to hike and bike traffic only. This is the only mountain bike trail in the park system.

Panther canyon

Panther Canyon Trail begins near the headwaters of the Comal Springs. The trail ascends the Balcones Escarpment into the Edwards Plateau under the shade of oaks, Ashe juniper, cedar elm and under-story trees including Mexican buckeye, kidneywood and Texas persimmon.

Comal County

madrone trail - canyon lake

Nice and rocky 7.6 mile trail that winds it’s way through a peninsula on Canyon Lake. This is a popular mountain biking trail as there are lot of rocky challenges. Cool off in the lake after a hike or ride. Park fee may apply.

tye preston library

The Comal Trails Alliance has partnered with the library in order to apply current trail building protocols to the nature trail that tracks along the perimeter of the library’s property. This means that certain portions of the trail are being reconfigured for proper tread inclines and water diversion. The intent is to make this a “sustainable trail”, resulting in less erosion and requiring less maintenance.

canyon lake area chamber of commerce

Park at the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce and enjoy a nice .54km stroll just behind the main building.

Great trail for hiking and horseback riding. Trail follows the lake line and has very little elevation gain. The trail is a good spot for beginner bicyclists who want to try going off-road for the first time.
